This review is from: The Print Shop v.23 (Software) Print Shop 23.1 does what Print Shop 2.0 cannot do and that is - to open the many projects created in recent, earlier versions of Print Shop. Both Print Shop 23.1 and 2.0 are compatible with Windows 7 but vers. 23.1 allows access to other, earlier, projects as vers. 2.0 does not. Without vers. 23.1 these projects would have been lost to me and all the effort they represent. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 13, 2010

    Works great with Windows 7

After upgrading to Windows 7, I was frustrated to find I could no longer use Printshop Deluxe version 20. I spent way too much time trying to solve this problem. I have done a photo collage with captions for Christmas cards every year on Printshop, and was not eager to learn a new program. I was so happy to find that this program works exactly like the old program, but has some added features. I was able to open last year's card and use it as a template for this year's without having to reformat anything. The old program had developed a bug and wouldn't crop pictures accurately. The new one crops fine and offers more cropping choices. It also has more photo editing choices. I can't comment on those much, because I use Photoshop Elements to fix photos. If you like your old version of Printshop, but it doesn't work on Windows 7, this program is your answer.I haven't looked at the newer versions of Printshop, but based on their reviews, they don't look that great... 5/5 S. The worst product I have ever purchased

I purchased this to replace version 23 thinking that it would be an improvement on some of the problem areas (such as the database function). Boy, was I mistaken. When I received the disk, it had scratches and could not be read in any of my computers. After polishing the disk I finally got it to read. After installing it I realized that none of the old projects will work with the new version. That was a bummer, just by itself, but the real problem with this new version is that it doesn't do half the things the older one did.The first project I needed to use it for became a real challenge. I wanted to make address labels for set of cards I was sending out family about my parents move. First, there is no internal database feature at all in the new version. It used extracts from your email program in a format that my email doesn't support. After doing a lot of research, I was finally able to get around that problem and then found that the only way it will print labels is to... 1/5 W. Print Shop 2.0 Deluxe for Windows 7

Paid extra at Amazon to use my prime shipping. This item was neccessary for my Wife's long time use of Print Shop becasue she now has a new PC with Windows 7 and this is the only offering Print Shop has for Win.7 Installation was easy but you must register on line before installtion is complete. It had the mandatory tabs along with several pages of just marketing questions which I skipped everything execpt the first few lines of asterik tabs which must be filled in. Projects have went smooth and graphics and photos are on line not on DVD so you must be connected to the internet to fully use the program. Having many photos and other images already on PC I used the import function to retrieve the ones we wanted for future projects. Program runs quickly and not sign of major bugs yet. I was very nervous about buying this product due to so many negative reviews, but so far it is working well for us. There will be a learning curve for creating projects if you are used to the older... 4/5 C. Stewts (port arthur, tx United States) - See all my reviews, March 4, 2010

If you have an older version, keep it

Just opened the box today - this looks pretty and is updated but it has many many fewer graphics and layouts than my old Printshop 21 has. We have 1800 image results for a search on "dogs" rather than the 3,500+ dog images in the old one. When I searched "book" there were 1,000 in the new product versus 3,184 in the old one. The graphics did appear to be higher resolution and quality but so much less in quantity that it didn't matter. At least some of the images are a carry-over from the older version I had. This version has a lot more photos and fewer drawn graphics. There are only 6 styles of pre-made brochures versus 350 in the old one. Also no option for a blank - create your own brochure at all. There are only 8 sample versions of headlines versus 84 in the old version. Some features such as snap in guides seem to be missing entirely. There are lots of restrictions on the images and how they can be used - more so than the old version had. The license mentions that they can... 1/5 K. Print Shop Deluxe 23

I am so sad to give Print Shop Deluxe 23 a rating of only "3". I have used this program since it was a "6" and no matter what other print programs I've purchased this has always been the best. But, when I open the graphics there are many to choose from, but there are many more not accessible. Under those graphics it says "available online". First off I've paid for the program, full suggested retail price. Well, apparently that's a sin. I should have downloaded it. No one will talk to me. Broderbund will not acknowledge Deluxe 23 and said I should go to Encore. I waited 34 minutes on their customer service only to be told the same thing. I tried to log onto Riverdeep, but another company kept coming up. I cannot get the extra graphics "available online" for the life of me. I've spent literally hours trying to make this work. I'm not super computer smart, but I've been around the block a little. So I can only give my favorite program a "3" and hope that you have an easier... 3/5 Frances E. The Printshop Isnt Printing

I was very disappointed in this version of Printshop. There are not many templates and the ones that are available are not that great. I bought this program to make some simple banners, flyers and signs for work. Once you figure out how to make a banner (which believe me is a hard task). you find that you cannot preview it or print it in landscape format. Plus its very confusing which page you're working on. For example, I wanted a banner that was four 81/2" by 11" sheets long. I made the banner, but first I adjusted the banner length in the program as instructed. But instead of printing a banner 4 sheets long, one sheet printed that was divided into four sections. I tried over and over again to use this program and over and over again I got the same results. I even tried finding updates online that might correct this problem to no avail. Finally I deleted the program and re-installed. It still works the same. Do not buy...It makes more since to draw your own banners and... 1/5 Marilyn Jones "Dachshund Lover" (Baltimore, MARYLAND, US) - See all my reviews, February 23, 2012

This review is from: Encore Software The Print Shop 3.0 DSA (CD-ROM) After changing my computer I discovered that my old Print Shop package was not compatable, I purchased the Printshop 3.0 from Amazon.com, I believe it was sub-ordered through Encore as Broderbund would not allow the product to be ordered directly from them to an address in New Zealand. This product was received within just a few days (much quicker than expected). I am more than pleased with this product and find it to actually have more options and suggestions than my old one. The only problem I have encountered is that I am finding that 'short of memory' is sub-boxed when I try to print or save some of the items. I do need to check why this is happening as it is a new computer and should be sufficient to load the Printshop easily. I would certainly recommend anyone who wants to use minor desktop publishing articles to at least try this product. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 17, 2012

My view of The Print Shop 2.0 Professional.

I was using The Print Shop 22 De Luxe on a Vista computer. I installed Windows 7 and found 22 would not work. Broderbund said they were working on a totally new version (oddly called 2.0). When it became available, I purchased 2.0 DeLuxe through Amazon, and was very disappointed. It worked with Windows 7, but lacked many of the features that 22 DeLuxe had (eg headlines, fixing flaws in photos, and cropping photos in shapes other than rectangles). I returned it to Amazon and bought (at extra cost) Version 2.0 Professional, hoping it would have the missing features. If they are there, I can't find them. The menus appear to be the same as the DeLuxe version. The Help manual is very superficial and appears to be the same whatever version you buy. In desperation I emailed Broderbund for help but they didn't bother replying. To add to my woes the program frquently crashes and needs restarting. I returned this one to Amazon too. Then I saw a small note on Broderbund's website,... 2/5 F. Coulter (Pauanui Beach, New Zealand) - See all my reviews, March 20, 2010

After I unistalled the original and re-installed the "fix" NOTHING changed. It does not work! I have been a loyal Print Shop fan for decades, and have upgraded many times. Guild Wars 2: My Favorite PC Game Ever

I finally broke down on impulse and bought Guild Wars 2 to try and it and, boy, was that a good decision. I don't know if I will convince any of you to partake, but I really hope you do. This is my favorite game of all time, displacing Skyrim, World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy VII, and it's now all I do during my gaming time. In my review, I will also hit on some WoW comparisons, because if you're like me, there will be some audience overlap. Here goes nothing:Class Selection and DefinitionThe game calls classes "professions" and, from the beginning, each one is differentiated and engaging. I won't write about each one, but I have mostly played an engineer for now. He gets a blend of bombs, grenades, turrets to help him and allies in combat, toting a rifle or a shotgun for his own protection. The magic classes have vast arrays of spells. Every class has some type of heal, even if it's minimal, but for each class your gameplay gets you into the character you are... 5/5 MMO Man "gioacchino" (Farmington, CT USA) - See all my reviews = Fun:, August 27, 2012

Best Collectors Edition I've Ever Bought

I bought the collectors Edition. Let's take a break from how awesome the game is for a second and talk about the product packaging. This thing came into my house in a very large box. The pictures here didn't prepare me. The figure is extremely well crafted; I cannot find a single flaw. All the armor spikes are actually pretty pointy. It's very firmly in the plastic back piece kind of took a while to get him all untied, but when I did I had to sit and just stare at him for a god ten minutes, and then I realized I hadn't even looked at his back, and found his awesome tail. He's removable from the rock stand they send you, and he works with or without it.They send you a simple picture frame in which you can place one of the five prints they send you. (One is already inside) The prints are on very nice paper. The biggest surprise for me was the metal tin that everything else came in. Outstanding Recipe Software - Best Value - Easy to Learn

I have been collecting recipes online since the early to mid 80's, and have purchased every single recipe management program I could find. Some have complex features that I find difficult to use, and don't really need. Some are only databases which you use to simply store and retrieve your recipes.I always return to MasterCook. In my opinion it is the very best software for those of us who are home cooks. It is very easy to use, and comes complete with thousands of recipes already entered in the program. In addition, you can enter your own recipes by typing them in.There are hundreds of thousands of recipes available on the internet which you can import. It is able to import recipes which are formatted for other recipe management programs as well as those already formatted for MasterCook. It is unique in that it is able to import recipes directly from any web page using a special web tool. Love it!

I've had previous versions of Mastercook (versions 7 and under). What I really like is the Web Import Bar that is added to Internet Explorer. This feature (new in version 8) is really a time saver for snagging recipes off the internet. I've entered most of our "old" family recipes from my mom and grandmas. Once I've discovered the calorie content of some of the recipes, I've then researched via the internet on how to change the "bad" for "better" substitutes. I use another program to track my food intake, but it seems like I am always looking to Mastercook to determine nutritional values for homecooked items. It's easy to alter the ingredients, etc., based on what was added to a specific recipe. For example, I seem to rarely make chili the same way twice in a row. Since I want to make sure the nutrition information I'm logging is correct, I just open the recipe, make the adjustments and I've got the info. I'd definitely say this software is well worth the price. (I'd pay double... Read more Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 6, 2006

It looks great, but make sure you did a little deeper

I first saw this computer at Sam's Club (eventually where I bought it too) and was completely infatuated. This laptop delivers amazing value for the price. HP has definately brought their 'A' game on this model. There are a couple things you *need* to know before you buy this laptop.First, the model I bought advertised a 500 GB hard drive. This is true, however it is 2 x 250 GB hard drives. Not that big of a deal, but I cannot believe it is not listed as such.Second, the laptop comes preloaded with a ton of junk and is heavily integrated with Windows Live stuff. Messenger, Live toolbar, etc. It comes with a trial of Norton Internet Security and a trial of Office 2007. My advice: Get Norton off the computer ASAP and install another anti-virus product.Third, no operating system CD's come with the package. There is a "Recovery" partition that contains about 12 GB of stuff (not 100% sure what exactly is on there). I do know that when setting up the... 4/5 Ryan Rodemoyer - See all my reviews, February 1, 2009

    This is an awesome machine

I got this at Best Buy for $700 and this is an excellent machine for its price. You are getting an HD monitor, built in webcam and microphone, silent keyboard which is perfectly sized for an adult, a beautiful interface, a lovely touchpad to turn up your volume, mute, play, fast forward and rewind... a 64 bit system with 4 GB of RAM capable of holding 8 GB of RAM... amazing. the mouse touchpad has a scroll function on its side. this computer has state of the art audio, (the speakers of this brand are very costly), a dedicated video graphics card, and a very powerful processor. coupled with its sleek design you cannot go wrong. its versatile, and it is very easy to set up networking. I have it set up in my home network. bought it 2 days ago and its fully functional. all laptops are more delicate than desktops and not a replacement. i got a service plan through BB in the case of hardware damage such as the monitor. this is always wise. anyway, take care of it and you have a... 5/5 R. Poor Performance

I too thought this would be good software, having the printshop name. The software does an ok job, and has a good user interface. The place where it falls down flat on its face is performance and file saving.1. If you scan 5 pictures at 600 dpi, then go from the get photo to the print tab, it takes 30 minutes!! and the computer is locked up for that entire time. I have a PIII 800 Mhz with 256M of memory and lots of free disk space. There is NO WAY it should take this long.2. When your scanned image is brought into the program, it immediatly saves it to the C drive WITHOUT asking for your permission, it also gives it a generated file name. You have no choice in this matter, and there is no 'option' to turn this off. Oh, it saves it as a BMP file, so any file that is saved is huge. Hope you have Giga bytes of free disc space. You can do a Save As later, but you still have to go in and delete the origional file saved by the software.Adobe has a FREE product... 1/5 Bryan (USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Print Shop Photo Pro 2.0 (CD-ROM) I too thought this would be good software, having the printshop name.
